Winners of The Queens Award for Voluntary Services 2004
 
The Mitalee Summer School is a Community Summer Scheme based in Luton, Bedfordshire.

For the last 13 Years Mitalee has been organising a Summer School Project for Young people aged between 8-25, during the summer school holidays in one of the most deprived parts of Luton.
The activities within the project is delivered in partnership with a number of other local agencies such as Luton Borough Council, Safer Luton Partnership, Local Police and Schools, On Track and PCT.
A great deal of effort is made to provide a range of educational, Social and Recreational activities.

Many Activities take place in our Center in Luton, these include different workshops from Radio broadcast training, Web design,
Health awareness, and Drama workshop.

Trips to Alton Tower, Chessington,Cinema and Swimming to name a few are also available and always a great success. Other trips include days to the seaside, Museums and sailing.

The Mitalee also has 4 youth exchanges, the last one was with a NGO organisation in Bangladesh. Through various fund raising
the Mitalee has raised approx £12,000 for this project.
